Resurfacing and Drainage works

From Monday 10 February 2025, drainage and resurfacing works will commence on the 600m Wireworks branch between Wireworks bridge and Tintern tunnel. Additional path landscaping and levelling will also be undertaken further south towards Black Morgan's viaduct. This work is being carried out with invaluable help and support from the Forest of Dean District Council Active Travel Grant scheme, Wye Valley National Landscape, DEFRA, Gloucestershire County Council Public Rights of Way team and Forestry England. The works are expected to last around three weeks, subject to weather conditions. During this time, the path will remain open. However, when machinery is in operation we politely ask that you wait until the operators see you and are able to let you pass. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
